Pottery

Clay, and more clay
2018 onwards, Tokyo

I quit my position at YouTube late 2017 with a severe burnout. Come 2018, some of the first energies that arose in me were the creative, the manual, the tactile. I craved to use my hands more and my head less. Of the many crafts I tried in quick succession, pottery struck the deepest cord, and stuck with me since. This is thanks in no small part to the tiny, friendly studio I found in Jiyugaoka, where I understood no one and no one understood me, yet the weekly half-day sessions felt like meditation in a warm community.
